We get asked by our clients all the time about what kind of healthy snacks are ok to eat while on a weight loss program. There are actually alot of healthy snacks to choose from, but one of our favorite to have is Greek Yogurt.

Our Pleasant Hill personal training program is all about teaching and educating our clients about proper eating habits. One of those eating habits is to eat 5-6 small meals throughout the day while eating healthy snacks.

Greek yogurt is a healthy snack because of several reasons:

1) High in protein

2) Low in sugar

3) Low in carbohydrates

4) Low in sodium

5) Low in calories

Greek yogurt is a great snack in between meals because it will help keep your blood sugars level throughout the day. Greek yogurt is also high in protein and is a great source for fuel while on a resistance training program.

But be careful and try to stay away from the flavored greek yogurt. Remember anything that has sugar will have carbs. So if you have to have flavored greek yogurt, make sure to have it during the daytime and night in the evening time.

So even though you are on a weight loss plan, doesn’t mean that you have to limit yourself from good food. Just make sure you choose the healthier choices. So the next time you want a healthy snack, choose greek yogurt.
